Position Overview

Gold Creek Engineering is seeking a motivated and experienced Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will lead and coordinate engineering projects for clients in the energy industry, with responsibility for managing scope, schedule, budget, communication, and overall project execution. This role requires strong organizational and leadership skills, the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams, and a practical understanding of engineering design and project delivery for energy infrastructure.

The successful candidate will serve as a key point of contact for clients and internal project teams, helping ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with client expectations, industry standards, and Gold Creek Engineering’s commitment to quality and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage engineering projects from initiation through completion, including scope development, planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout.

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, work plans, staffing plans, and deliverable lists.

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, including process, mechanical, electrical, civil/structural, controls, and other technical disciplines as required.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to support clear communication and successful project execution.

  • Track project progress, identify risks or issues, and proactively develop solutions to keep projects on schedule and within budget.

  • Prepare, review, and manage project documentation including proposals, project execution plans, meeting minutes, status reports, change management logs, and closeout documentation.

  • Support proposal development, including scope definition, estimating, scheduling, and preparation of project management deliverables.
    Manage project changes, including evaluating impacts to scope, budget, schedule, and resources.

  • Coordinate engineering deliverables and reviews to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance with client requirements and applicable industry standards.

  • Facilitate regular project meetings with clients and internal teams to review progress, resolve issues, and align on upcoming priorities.
    Support procurement, construction, commissioning, and field activities as needed.

  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across project teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree – Engineering (chemical, mechanical, electrical, or civil/structural, or related engineering discipline) required.

  • Ability to manage engineering, design, construction, or energy infrastructure projects.

  • Experience with one or more of the following is preferred:

    • Upstream oil & gas facilities

    • Gas processing plants

    • Compressor stations

    • SWDs

    • Tank Batteries

  • Strong understanding of engineering project delivery, including scope management, schedule management, budgeting, change management, and multidisciplinary coordination.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, team members, contractors, and vendors.

  • Ability to lead technical discussions with clients and engineering disciplines regarding design basis, constructability, operability, and project execution strategy.

  • Ability to identify technical scope gaps, coordinate engineering interfaces, and support resolution of design issues during execution.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience preparing or supporting proposals, estimates, schedules, project reports, and client-facing deliverables.

  • Demonstrated experience with engineering drawings, technical specifications, project controls, and industry codes and standards.

  • PMP certification or progress toward certification is preferred but not required.

  • Professional Engineer license is preferred but not required.

  • Be willing to travel occasionally for client meetings, site visits, project reviews, commissioning support, and field coordination.
